P90X Reviews: Day 0003

I am feeling better today. My leg has gone down to a dull throb and my cold is almost non existant. I had a protein shake for breakfast this morning with strawberries, pineapple, and banana. I figure if I’m not working out until Monday I better definately follow some good eating habits. My body is probably in great need of the nutrients as well in order to recover from all my mishaps. For my AM snack I had a granola bar. Lunch was a small bowl of whole wheat pasta with roasted vegetables. VERY TASTY!!! And extremely easy to make. Everyone knows how to make pasta I hope. The veggie part is easy too. Just cut up your favorite veg, put in a baking pan, sprinkle with some olive oil and let them cook until tender. Toss that in with your pasta and you have quite a scrumptious lunch. My PM snack was some edeme. These can be found in your grocers freezer and are wonderful steamed. After my snack I had to go get the kids from school. My daighter had an appointment with the ENT today. She has to get her tonsils removed Feb 4th. She is really nervous about the whole…..I have to admit, so am I. She’ll be out of schol for 10 days and maybe in the hospital over night. Hopefully all will go well. I am sure it will, but I am a mother and blessed with constant worry. So until tomorrow take care everyone!

P90X Reviews: Day 0002

As if things couldn’t get any damn worse!!!! So after I blogged last night I went to make some tea to help with my cold. I boiled a pot of water and as I was turning around to pour it into my cup my daughter zipped up behind me. I fumbled the pot and had the split second decision to make of “dump it on the child’s head or myself”. I don’t think I need to say which choice made. So I have sustained 2nd degree burns on a good portion of my upper thigh. They said it was a good thing I have already started a broad spectrum of antibitoics to prevent bacterial infection. There are blisters, dead sking, and all sorts of other nastiness. The doctors say as long as I do a good job of keeping it clean I should have minimal scarring. The pictures a just a portion of my injuries. These were taken last night a few hours after it happened. I figured I’d do everyone a favor and not include the ones of what it looks like today (figured you’d want to keep your dinner down). So I am officially most definately NOT working out again until Monday. On the bright side…….my cold seems to be doing better…….I can breath better anyways.

P90X Reviews: Day 0001

I went to work today with a fever of over 101*. Somehow our residents were exposed to scabies. So we had to give 36  people showers, sterilize their beds, and remake them with fresh linens. I am still not eating very well. I managed to eat some oatmeal and soup. I am keeping up on my fluids though. I went to the doctor after work. It is official. I have an upper respiratory infection (she says I’m not moving oxygen very well through my lungs right now either). Plus a left ear infection. I have been pulled from work until Friday (under threat of worsening my condition to pnemonia) and placed on a high dosage of antibiotics. So I will try to get better and will pick up where I left off (week 6)  next Monday, January 12th. I will continue to blog though.

I am not counting this week on my blog or workout. Today is Monday, January 5th. My apetite is MIA. I am fatigued and feel like absolute crap. I will be going to doctor’s tomorrow to resolve this.

P90X Reviews: Day 35 Kenpo X

So my unmentionable symtoms have left me. But I still have the fever, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose. I think I have the common cold ladies and gentleman. I hate to be such a downer and blow this whole week basically, but I have to get better. I know if I go and exert this energy my body needs to fight this I will really regret this later. I will see you guys on Monday hopefully feeling MUCH better. And Michelle, you don’t need to buy Lean as a separate program. You just buy the P90X and P90X Lean just consists of a diffeent arrangment of the workouts offered as opposed to Classic. Which is really nice because after you do a round of Lean, if you feel comfortable, you’ll already have the DVDs to bump up to Classic. $$$$Money Saver$$$$

P90X Reviews: Day 33 Yoga X

Started off the day whith a whole wheat bagel and reduced fat cream cheese. Did a few things around the house. Really not feeling well. My AM snack was a protein bar. For lunch I had soup and half a turkey sandwich. My PM snack was pistachios. After I let my snack settle I did my yoga. I don’t know what is wrong with me but my body was feeling extremely drained. I only made it through about 45 mins today. I kept losing my balance and getting light headed. I was weating like a pig too! So now that that is done I think I’m going to go shower and lay down. I will let you know what developes of this strange day. Sorry for the extremely short blog, but I am ust not feeling myself right now.

P90X Reviews: Day 32 Chest/Shoulders/Triceps/Ab ripper

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! WELCOME 2009!!!! I can’t believe I was a functioning member of society today after last night. We stayed up to watch the ball drop, my oldest even made it. But it really took it’s toll today after having to wake up at 5:45am to go to work. Plus, after I got to work I discovered that few other people had called in. So that left me and a nurse as the only staff on my floor for about 30 mins this morning. That was fun! Staffing sent us some people after that and we trucked right along the rest of day, but it was a killer. My breakfast was a soy muffin and my AM snack was some toast (had to eat on the fly because of staffing issues, toast was all I could grab out of the dining room at the moment). For lunch I had butternut squash ravioli and an apple. My Pm snack was a protein bar. After work I came home to all my sweeties. My husband had the day off and stayed home with the kids. Apparently they had a great day lounging and playing the Wii. I immediately jumped in to my workout so I would have the rest of my night to do whatever. My husband even joined me for this one. This workout is different from the upper body workout in Phase 1 (shoulders and arms) in that it works more of the chest area and shoulder area using weights and your own body weight. Your do exercises like pour flys (doing a standing fly with dun=mbells and then twisting weights at the wrist like you are pouring something out of them), plank push ups, y press (overhead dumbell press, and pike press (push up where you have your rear up in the air and trying to drop crown of head to the floor). That pike press may sound easy, but trust me it’s not! I could barely squeak out 6. I used mainly 8 and 10 lb weights. I switched up to 5lbs for tricep work though. I stuck with 12-16 reps to achieve that lean look I am looking for. I kicked ass on ab ripper tonight. Even out did my husband on a few of them……ha ha ha! See what happens when you take a break LOSER! My abs will pay for pushing that extra bit tomorrow though. All in all it was a great new routine. I took it slow and took advantage of the breaks (old shoulder injury will forver keep me from keeping up with the big boys on this one). I look forward to seeing the progress I make here.
