Week 5, Phase 2 HERE I COME! So today was the first day of week 5 and phase 2 of this marvelous program. Now this means not only has my workout regime changed but also my nutrition guide. I started off the morning with some oatmeal with raisins and a cup of skim milk. Went to work and busted some booty. Had a lot of fun though. My AM snack was a protein bar and for lunch a shrimp pasta Lean Cuisine with an apple. My Pm snack was a cup of cottage cheese (for those of you that have cottage cheese issues I’m sure you could substitute with string or sliced cheese as long as it’s 1% milkfat). When I came home my sitter told me my son had been coughing all day. Took his temp and it was a little over 100*. God I love winter (huge note of sarcasim here). So we decided to take it easy for the night. Had tacos with ground turkey and fat free beans. Boy does mexican hit the spot!!!! Just remember throughout this program you don’t have to give up some of your favs, just find new healthier ways to make them. If there are areas where you can substitute with fat free or lowfat (or with veggies), do it! That way you can still have the things you crave without taking huge steps back. In the long run it helps you stay on track because you won’t be cheating with all the crap food. After dinner we all played a good round of Sorry. I haven’t played that game since I was little. Santa brought it for us for Christmas. Fun was had by all, especially my 5 year old when he won. He wasn’t at all modest about it either LOL! We tucked in the little boogers after that and I started my workout. Tom decided to bring his laptop out into the livingroom and play his game while I workout….to provide “support”. Halfway through he asked if I liked yelling at the TV. I told him I wasn’t yelling at the TV but at myself . I always give out shouts of “COME ON” and ”LET’S GO” My way of pumping myself up for those extra few at the end. In this workout there are definately times when you need to stop and give the muscles a break. But don’t stop cold. Give it a few secs at the most and then try for a few more. It will really help build the muscle and give you the most for your work. I finished strong tonight. Felt much better than yesterday. So now it is off to the showers. See ya later!
