Today was a very loungy day. Wasn’t feeling too well in the AM. I felt achey all over. Not sore wokrout achey, like flu achey. Just had some cereal and a banana for breakfast. Skipped my AM snack because I took a snooze on the couch. After that I got the blood flowing again with some yoga. I have to admit I only did an hour. I did the opening vinyasas and skipped to the balance postures (basically skipped everything after the under grab up until balance postures). I did all of my balance postures and floor work. I opted out of the ab seven moves that are towards the end. Finished up with the remainder of the workout and cool down. I know it wasn’t my all but boy did I feel like butthole. I am wondering if it was the massage yesterday that did it. You know how they say it releases the bad stuff in your body, so maybe that was it. After yoga I had lunch, which was a turkey sandwhich and tomato soup (tomao soup always makes everything better
) We went to run some errands and picked out some movies to watch at home. That being said, I’m sure you know what I did once we got home……..exactly……..crashed on the couch and watched a movie. My PM snack was a granola bar. For dinner we had Veggie pizza and salad. Before I got on here I decided to take a hot soak to try and loosen things up more. It worked pretty well. I figure between the massage, yoga, and the soak I got my body back on the right track. Boy did I feel lousy today though I tell you. So weird. So that is the end of my rest week. I can honestly say it was anything BUT rest. I would take some strength training over a week of cardio and stretching any day! So tomorrow begins week 5 and a new phase of the P90X program. Today I celebrate!!!!!

Man what a night last night! We had a few friends over last night and let me just say……..”you and the captain can make it happen”. A few stayed over night (no drinking and driving here. I think we finally went to bed around 3am. At like 6:45 someone that slept in the livingroom decided to tur the TV on full blast during some gun fight. That was it, I was up for the rest of the morning just laying there. When I finally rolled out of bed at 10am, I made home fries and egg white scrambles. After breakfast and everyone left we started taking down all the Christmas stuff. I like getting my house back to normal as soon as possible. It took a few hours but we got it done. Since we ate breakfast late I decided to skip my AM snack and just jump right into Cardio X. The enegry was deinately NOT there today. Guess that tends to happen on 3 or 4 hours of sleep. I pushed as much as I could, but I had to stop periodically because I was simply drained. One friend stuck around and watched….more like laughed at my determination to finish. Funny though, I didn’t see him getting up and giving it a shot. So needless to say, today’s workout was not the best cardio x I’ve ever done. Good things there us always another day. Once all the grind was done I decided to treat myself. I went to a local day spa and got a nice hour long deep tissue massage. People, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you do this at least once during this program. Oh my gosh did it make a difference. All the stiffness and sore muscles disappeared with every minute that passed. It really helped take the edge off of last night and the last 4 weeks. What a great end to the day! I still have laundry and some other stuff to do, but now it is just relaxing. I think from here on out I will treat myself to one of those beauties every couple of weeks. Totally prepped me for tomorrow. The lady even worked a few areas in my hip (I have been having trouble with my left hip being tighter than my right). So I will be ready to bring it for yoga x tomorrow. See ya then!

MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. My family and I had a truly magical holiday with each other. The HO HO Man came and brought the kids all sorts of new toys and clothes. He even hooked me up too. Even my dog got a nice big bone to chew on. We had whole wheat waffles and egg whites for breakfast after we opened all our presents. I did my workout a few hours afterwards. This is the only thing thus far that has felt like rest all week long. Nothing but some nice soothing stretching. Not even strecthing like yoga, where you break a sweat and breath heavy. This stretching is like the last few minutes of yoga where you are cooling down and very relaxed. It worked out great it being on the holiday and all. No bg workout to worry about. I skipped my AM snack because we ate breakfast late. For lunch I had half a turkey sandwich with some cashews. We went to a friend of the family’s house for Christmas dinner. It was a great time, except my daughter started feeling sick. Caught some upper respiratory bug I think. We had turkey with all the trimming and then tottled home on very full bellies. Hope everyone had a great Christmas!!!!! Best wishes to all of you!!!!

Wednesday……Christmas Eve…….BUSY BUSY!! On Wednesday we had a holiday party at work for the residents. It was very lovely. We all bought gifts for them. We opened presents around the tree and enjoyed some eggnog and donut holes. My breakfast, you’ll be happy to hear, was not the eggnogg and dounut holes. I had a chicken scramble with some juice. I didn’t have a lot of time to make it or eat it, so I tried to eat it in the car. SAFETY NOTE: DO NOT TRY TO EAT THESE IN THE CAR!!! My AM snack was a Fiber One bar. For lunch I had a chicken salad sandwich with some vegetable soup. I love this nutrition guide!!! It really has some great recipes in it that I plan on using well after this program is over. I have had compnay over too and they really enjoy the food. So if you don’t have a nutirion guide……GET ONE! My PM snack was cottage cheese. After work my in-laws came over for a Christmas Eve dinner. My father-in-law makes fantastic meatballs and sauce. So we all enjoyed some of those with garlic bread. YUM YUM. Totally not in the guide, but he doesn’t make these very often and I was not about to pass them up. Once dinner was over we exchanged gifts and spent some time together chatting. It was really nice having them over. After they left the kids got all ready for Santa to come. They set out the milk and cookies, and apple slices for the reindeer. They were so excited I thought they weer going to explode LOL! They finally went to bed and stayed there around 9pm. Now it was time to start my workout….had to get my stuff done too before Santa came
I had a great time doing this workout on Christmas Eve. I couldn’t have planned it better. I was so pumped and full of adrenaline already, it was a great way to get rid of some of that energy before bed. I enjoyed bopping around like a little boxer. I even started chsing Tom around the house pretending I was beating him up. Yeah, that got old after a few minutes when he started hasing back LOL! I couldn’t yell as loud, or not at all. I didn’t want the kids to get up. So after that was done I showered and got in my Christmas PJ’s and anxiously awaited the arrival of the fat man.
